Event: LBCC Public Health Expo 2026

Date: Wednesday, April 22

 Time: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Location: Long Beach City College

April is LBCC Public Health Awareness Month, and Long Beach City College is hosting their Public Health Expo 2026 to celebrate. The theme for this year is "Think Globally. Act Locally.". The organizers note that public health begins with each of us, and our local actions shape national and global health. We highly encourage our community to attend this informative event.

Of special interest to our mission here at L.A. CADA is the "Save a Life: Opioid Overdose Prevention & Narcan Use" session taking place from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm in room LAC-Q-117. Additionally, there will be live demonstrations on CPR and overdose response.

The expo is packed with free activities and resources for everyone. The day kicks off with an Opening Session featuring History, Poetry, and Play at the LAC-Bob and Barbara Ellis Auditorium from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Following that, you can check out the Resource Fair in the LAC - A Quad, located in front of the Welcome Center, which runs from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Starting at 11:30 am, attendees can enjoy Yoga and Sound Baths or attend the Public Health Research Symposium. There will also be an LBCC Cheer and Dance Performance at 12:45 pm.

There are plenty of other engaging activities to explore, including free health screenings like blood pressure checks. Attendees can also enjoy free food, snow cones, music, and games, along with fun attractions like a 360-degree photobooth and an inflatable money booth. For those looking to the future, there will be information on career opportunities, internships, and transfer pathways to CSU, UC, and private colleges.

All are welcome to attend this community event. For more event information, please visit LBCC.EDU/PUBLICHEALTHEXPO.
